Galway City of Film and RTÉ announce new Short Film Commission

Galway City of Film is delighted announce the return of the Short Film Commission Scheme a partnership scheme with RTÉ and Galway Film Centre. Writers are invited to submit a story idea and the best three ideas will be selected and receive a prize of €500 each. These three writers will go on to be mentored by an experienced Script Editor to bring their idea from a story outline to a finished script. From this, one script will be selected and made into a short film.

The Fireman and The Nurse screening in Ballina Arts Centre

Writer/Director Gemma Doorly and Actor Tony Murphy were in Ballina Arts Centre last week to show a private screening of the award winning short film, The Fireman and the Nurse, to Mayo Youth Theatre who formed part of the cast of the film.  Mayo Youth Theatre participants Vanessa Byrne and Adam O’Malley were presented with framed posters of the short.  The Fireman and the Nurse was shot on location in Killala , Co Mayo in April 2016.  The screening was followed by a Q&A.

Tiger Raid: Your chance to buy, stream or download

Tiger Raid has just been released in Ireland and the UK as a DVD/VOD release so it is available on all good platforms to buy, stream and download.

Tiger Raid, is a film adaptation of local Ballinrobe Writer, Mick Donnellan's play Radio Luxembourg.  It  was filmed in Jordan and its Stellar Cast includes Brian Gleeson, Damian Molony and Sofia Boutella.

Best of luck to GMarsh TV on their IFTA nomination

Mayo Company GMarsh TV are delighted to have been nominated for the second year in a row for a children's series following the adventures of the lovely Doyle Family from Lahardane, Co. Mayo. Finger's crossed for 'Out and About' at tomorrow's (7th of October) award ceremony.

With two 6-part series forming the backbone of the current RTE autumn schedule the Crossmolina TV Company have been kept extremely busy.
