The Western Region Audiovisual Producer’s Fund or WRAP Fund is an initiative of the Western Development Commission and Galway Film Centre in association with the local authorities in Clare, Donegal, Galway City, Galway County, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo.

Screenwriter Eugene O Brien (of Pure Mule & Eden fame) is one of the writers giving a screenwriting presentation and short mentoring opportunities in Mayo on Saturday 9th of December.

Ted's Adventure: Mayo to Peru is a documentary that tells the incredible story of the Irish tourist who became a ‘Porter’ on the world’s most famous tourist trail. Film Mayo is offering a special bursary award to filmmakers born or living in Mayo, to enable them to spend two weeks at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annaghmakerrig, County Monaghan. Workspaces, board and lodging expenses will be provided for in the award. Applicants should show significant achievement in their field or demonstrate a high degree of promise. Applications are assessed by an independent expert selection board (appointed by Mayo County Council).

Ag Trasnú an Atlantaigh Dhuibh (Crossing the Black Atlantic) will be broadcast on TG4 tomorrow night Wednesday the 18th of October at 9.30pm. Directed by Des Kilbane and Andrew Gallimore, the documentary is an action-packed narrative laced with southern belles, fights to the death and tales of debauchery and destitution all seen through the eyes of a compelling but tragic character.
