Documentary call out for videos from people aged 15 & 34, view on being Irish

 #Who Am I is a special one-off documentary to give an insight into what it means to young people (15 to 34 years old) to be Irish and living in Ireland in 2016.  

As part of the documentary, Midas Productions want to hear the thoughts from as many young people in Ireland – and to do so, those interested can submit a self-shot video (filming on a phone, etc), with its duration from 30 secs to 4 mins, or however long it takes.

SPLANC! 8 new short film commissions announced

TG4 and the Arts Council, in partnership with Galway Film Centre, are delighted to announce eight new short film commissions for a special season of Splanc! to celebrate 2016 in art. Splanc! is the Irish language arts documentary scheme that supports the creative exploration of the arts in Ireland.

After a highly competitive selection process the following filmmakers have now been commissioned:
Tadhg O’Sullivan’s Solas Céad Bliain will explore how different Irish artworks have used light as a motif.

First Cut. Youth Film Festival.

The Call for Entries to the First Cut! Youth Film Festival 2016 is open. The 7th edition of the festival will take place in April. The festival provides an opportunity for young filmmakers, age 12-24, to be part of a very exciting national and international Youth Film Festival which is supported by the Arts Council and Cork County Council.

Lights Camera “Live Life” National Film Competition

In May 2013, young Donal Walsh lost his cancer battle at 16 years of age. Prior to his passing he managed to get people, most especially young people, thinking and talking about how good life is and to focus on the positives rather than the negatives. Donal’s family began to receive donations from all over the world so that they could continue spreading his positive message and in any way prevent suicide. To date any monies received have been used to support teenage cancer patients and to prevent teenage suicide.

BAI. Over €5.2M allocated to 99 projects under Sound & Vision Scheme
