Film Mayo Creative Ireland Award

Film Mayo, a Mayo Arts Service, Mayo County Council, initiative, invite submissions for the Film Mayo Creative Ireland Award 2020. 

This Award is for an emerging Mayo born or based filmmaker, working in Ireland.

The aim of the Film Mayo Creative Ireland Award is to benefit the successful filmmaker in their own practice.

The award will allow the emerging filmmaker the time to develop new work, dedicate time to research, develop new ideas and to work with the local community.  

Award: €8,000

Markosia Press publish comic written by Mayo-born screenwriter

Markosia Press have published a new comic written by Mayo-born screenwriter Mike Heneghan. Buddykar is a cyberpunk story about an isolated man in a future city masquerading as the AI for a self-driving car, but his efforts to hide himself from the world have deadly consequences.

Mayo Film Makes Virgin Media TV Debut

Backwater a short film that shot in Mayo in 2018 will be making it's television debut on Virgin Media One, on Sunday 1st of March @ 11PM.

The film was written and directed by Brendan McCallion and co-written by Frank O'Malley, a Mayo native who also produced the film.
