An Báthadh Mór (2005)

On the night of October 28th 1927 a storm of incredible fury hit the Irish coast without warning. Men from Galway and Mayo fishing in small row-boats were caught in the sudden gale: forty-five were lost within shouting distance of their homes. Survivors battled for hours against the huge waves before staggering ashore blind and barely conscious. The film, narrated by Mick Lally, is the dramatic, moving account from men and women who remember that terrible night and its profound consequences.
