Soulsmith Feature Film

Kevin Henry (The Last Confession) a Mayo native is currently filming his debut feature Soulsmith in Castlebar during the months of April and May.  A graduate of DIT’s School of Media, Kevin has spent the last year along with Producer Séamus Waters (Capturing Our Capital, Sur la Pointe) developing the script.  The film follows the story of Ed Smith a young playwright returning home to his native Mayo after the passing of his Father. 

Locations used include Johnny McHales, Cafe Rua, the Welcome Inn, Old Head, Silver Strand and the Linenhall Theatre. The cast consists of some Castlebar natives including Richard Wynne and Donna Ruane. Local interest has involved a radio interview with CRC FM and a feature in the Western People.
