Clare Island Lighthouse

Clare Island Lighthouse, Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland

A haven of peace, lighthouse included !

This listed property on Clare Island in Clew Bay on Ireland’s west coast is over 200 years old. The lighthouse itself was decommissioned in 1965. The building complex at the northern tip of the island has been gradually and sensitively transformed since 2008 into luxuriously comfortable guest accommodation: six spacious and tastefully decorated rooms in keeping with the style of the the lighthouse, each with its own bathroom and WC (en suite) and all with antique open fireplaces or stoves, underfloor heating and WLAN. A suite with a cross trainer and sauna is also included in one of our suites. Here guests can unwind while enjoying breathtaking views over the landscape and the sea.

There are no TV sets anywhere in the property - the relaxed atmosphere in the Lighthouse and the delights of nature to be found on the island more than make up for their absence.
